The HMS Prince of Wales docked up in Liverpool. Not in active service yet, one of the Navy’s newest vessels docks up in the cruise liner spec on Liverpool next to the Liverbuildings an opposite Cammell Laird where some of the ship was made.

Another video of the HMS Prince of Wales. Alas, no F-35 jets flying about. It’s no USS Gerald R. Ford but at 284m long, it does cut an impressive figure berthed. Will it put us on the map? I’m not entirely sure, especially after reading “The Doomsday Machine: Confessions of a Nuclear War Planner”. One Minuteman III missile (look them up) makes this look like a child’s toy.

But then again, there is a theory that “defence” is mainly there to create jobs and keep the economy going. So maybe it’s not such a bad thing. Oddly too The Ministry of Defence decided not to use nuclear propulsion due to its high cost.
