About Ben Maffin
Welcome to maffin.co.uk™ Ben Maffin is an entrepreneur who after reading Physiology and then Law in Bristol (and some more advanced law in Chester) now lives on the Wirral Peninsula.
Since forming his first company at 23, Ben Maffin has worked with some of the most prestigious companies in the UK including Compass Group Plc, Boots Retail International, the Premier League and was the original technical consultant on the multi-million pound PlumbNation website.
Moving to the award-winning digital agency Rippleffect / Reading Room in 2010 Ben Maffin managed large, premium digital developments. He is familiar with SDL Tridion, SiteCore, Magento, Drupal, Umbraco and bespoke CMS systems and adopts a ‘hands on’ approach to team leadership.
During his tenure as Head of Project Management at Rippleffect / Reading Room he managed commercially sensitive projects with tight deadlines and pre-set budgets.
The biggest challenge however was moving the 200 strong company from a waterfall way of working, to using Agile. This culture shift not only affected internal stakeholders but also clients and partner companies.
Moving to Monterosa Productions in 2018 to get an in-depth knowledge of Enterprise app development, Ben kept his track record of delivering complex projects and driving them through to completion across multiple off and onshore teams.
Working in a Senior Delivery Role, he lead the team to deliver several household named apps for ITV to a #1 spot (This Morning, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Love Island); these exceeded previous app successes and set a new precedent for in-app commercialisation with the updated Love Island shop.
Ben Maffin is confident when developing long-term client (and internal) relationships and recognizes that understanding a client’s business is key to successfully delivering projects on-time, to budget and to a GOLD standard.
He has a keen interest in Intellectual Property law and using technology to deliver projects more efficiently. During his spare time, he enjoys photography and using his Raspberry Pi to overcome various challenges.
